Andrew Martin

The Andrew Martin is our fifth brand of Resource Decor.  Designer Martin Waller established his company, Andrew Martin, in 1978 drawing his inspiration, like many others, from his worldly travels.  He states on his official website - AndrewMartin.co.uk:

"For me design has been about reflecting different cultures and communicating a passion for the people that made them. While many designers want to say something new, I want to say something old – to capture a flavour of an antique land and somehow bottle it. It's a homage to the many generations from different lands who have bequeathed a legacy of design." - See more at: http://www.andrewmartin.co.uk/

You can easily see in many of his works where the piece is inspired from whether that's a time period or place.

Even as a young boy, Martin was attracted to planes and space travel which translated to many of his designs.  Every piece has a meaning or a story to it and that's one reason why it's so attractive.

Martin now only designs furniture for Andrew Martin UK and Resource Decor, but also has an extensive fabric and wallpaper line.  Many of his fabrics have been integrated into the Resource Decor fabric handles and throw pillow program.

Martin was one of my favorite designers to talk to and to learn from at High Point Fall Market.  He was so incredibly down to earth and fun to be around.  Always joking and having a blast. Although he's a superstar in the design field around the world, he still laughs at the fact he's got paparazzi following him and people going crazy to get photos with him.

Maison 55

Maison 55, is yet again, one of the eight brands of Resource Decor.  To me, Maison 55 fits the transitional styling of many other manufacturers out there today, yet still being dynamic.  This collection of products feature a lot of shagreen, eglomise, and brass detailing along with the traditional high sheen rosewood finishes. With the 8-way hand tied upholstery also featured in this brand, the Maison 55 collection has it all; dining, bedroom, living and occasional.

Introduction to Resource Decor

Welcome to my first post for Sherra Vehlewald LLC newsletter!  I want this to be a place you can find the latest news about the lines that I represent.

I recently came home from High Point Fall Furniture Market where I represented Resource Decor in six states; Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa.  I had a blast introducing Resource Decor to many retailers, designers and showrooms.  For those of you who were unable to come to High Point, here is a little introduction.

Resource Decor is a new manufacturer and it was our first time showing at High Point.  We have 8 different brands that were represented under the Resource Decor umbrella:
-Nellcote Studio
-Coup & Co Art
-Maison 55
-Andrew Martin
-Thomas Bina
-Tracey Boyd
-BeauHome
-Benchmade

Seven out of our eight brands are made in our own factory in Vietnam.  Benchmade is our only brand that is strictly made in North Carolina.  We also offer upholstery which is an eight-way hand tied construction made also in North Carolina.

The biggest thing to know about Resource Decor is that we ARE the factory.  The factory has been around since 2003 making O.E.M. products for many other high end manufacturers that were also represented in High Point.  Now instead of going through a manufacturers, we are becoming the manufacturer.
